"Well, I'm not interested in coming, then," one reader said when we explained the purpose of our confab in May in Louisville.

We want to be clear about what we're going to be doing: we're getting together and discussing our "media problem." Talking and thinking together.

Maybe this kind of discussion isn't your cup of tea. But if you've always felt frustrated ... angry ... at the stunning lack of coverage of disability rights issues as serious public issues, then you belong with us this May.

We'll get together in small groups at the hotel and we'll examine the problem and see what each of us thinks about it. An agenda is being developed from the pre-registration forms and essays we've already received from registered participants. From May 21 to 23, we'll be examining our "national media problem" and together we will begin the process of figuring out what the movement might do to change things.

No speakers, no panels, no celebrities -- just us, together, talking about what we can do to solve this problem.
