Encounters in Josie Byzek recalls a curious conversation with the neighborhood baker. He asked where she works. She told him she has a job at the Pennsylvania Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities. "Oh," he said, "I had a guy in a wheelchair come in here once." "Yeah?" Josie said. "Yeah. And he said he wanted to buy a cake," the baker told her. "Oh. And?" "And he picked out the cake he wanted." "And?" Josie asked. "And I gave him his change." "And?" "And that was the end of it."
